A Statement From Dr Whiting Who Is Retiring

It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I am retiring from medicine on 30th June 2020.

I first started work in North Manchester as a junior doctor in 1983 so I have fond memories of many of the old hospitals (Ancoats, the Northern, Monsall and The Jewish) and of course of our old building on Brideoak Street.

I’ve seen many patients and doctors come and go and remember them well. Some of the patients were challenging but almost all have been gracious and kind and I hope that I have helped them a little.

I firmly believe the practice is in very safe hands and will cope well with the changes that await, not least the incredible evolution we have recently been forced into with COVID-19, truly an odd way to move towards retirement.

So I’m sorry I could not meet you face to face to say goodbye, but your kind thoughts have been much appreciated.

Keep well.
