Training surgery

The surgery is both a training and a teaching surgery approved by the University of Manchester and Health Education North West.

GP registrars (ST3 doctors) are attached to our surgery for 12 months (whole time). The registrars are fully qualified doctors who are training to become GPs. They have already spent time gaining experience in hospital placements before spending their final year of their GP specialty training with us. They will become a fully qualified GP at the end of this training.

We also host ST2 doctors spending 6 months in general practice as part of their second year in GP specialty training.

The practice also welcome medical students who are gaining experience in their early years of training to become a doctor. These placements are to introduce them to the workings of general practice.
